Climate Asset Management appoints Sarah Gledhill as Chief Operating Officer

Sarah Gledhill becomes Chief Operating Officer of Climate Asset Management and will join the leadership team.

Climate Asset Management further expands its leadership team following the appointment of Sisa Sibanda as Head of Human Resources in June 2023.

Press Release

Climate Asset Management is delighted to announce the appointment of Sarah Gledhill as Chief Operating Officer (COO).

Gledhill will lead the firm’s growing operations team and will join the firm’s leadership team. She brings more than 25 years’ experience in Finance, Risk and Operations including more than 20 years in Investment Management. For the past 17 years, while at InfraRed Capital Partners, Gledhill held a number of leadership roles across Finance, Risk, Technology, Operations and Sustainability. Most recently, she established a Portfolio Impact Strategy across a portfolio of more than 200 infrastructure assets which extended beyond contractual requirements, focusing on the creation of better futures for surrounding communities. Earlier in her career, Gledhill worked at HSBC Asset Management and Ernst and Young.

Gledhill’s appointment comes after a year of expansion for Climate Asset Management. In April 2023, Apple announced Climate Asset Management would manage a novel natural capital investment vehicle of up to $200 million, as part of Apple’s Restore Fund. In May, Martin Berg was appointed Chief Executive Officer, while in June, Sisa Sibanda joined as Head of Human Resources from private equity firm Castlelake. Sibanda is responsible for developing and executing the people strategy in support of the overall business plan and strategic direction of the firm and was central to the appointment of Gledhill.

Commenting on the appointment, Martin Berg, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Climate Asset Management said: “We are delighted to welcome Sarah, whose extensive experience in finance, operations and sustainability will have an immediate impact and further strengthen the leadership and governance of our business as we continue to pursue our ambition to be a world-leading natural capital asset manager.”

Sarah Gledhill, COO of Climate Asset Management added: “I am delighted to join Climate Asset Management at this exciting time for the business and look forward to contributing to the ambition of the leadership team. Climate Asset Management has received commitments from leading global firms across multiple sectors which demonstrates confidence in the business and that nature is now firmly on the agenda for corporates and institutional investors transitioning to net zero.”

Climate Asset Management offers scalable investment opportunities in natural capital, focusing on activities that preserve, protect, and enhance nature, reduce carbon emissions, and address climate change. Climate Asset Management’s Natural Capital Strategy allows institutional investors to target returns and impacts through real asset investments in developed markets and its Nature Based Carbon Strategy helps corporates to directly invest in nature-based carbon projects in emerging markets. The team is continuing to fundraise for both strategies.
